ABOUT the OFT COURSE and OWNER BUILDING in NSW.
You must complete the compulsory Owner Builder Course before applying to the OFT for a Permit. Owner Building is Project Managing your planned need, as well as taking responsibility for the safety of your building site and the quality of the construction. About Owner Building.

It is a prerequisite to have a OHS White Card BEFORE you may commence the 91509NSW Course in Owner Builder Compliance.

STEP 1: - Provide proof of your OH&S White Card, OR complete OHS Unit CPCCOHS1001A work safely in the construction industry.

If you hold an OHS White Card issued after March 2003, simply send us a clear copy of both sides or of the certificate, by post, facsimile or scan and email. See a PDF Enrolment Forms for details : Workshop, Correspondence Hard Copy or Online.

If you do not have one, enrol in the 1 day OHS White Card course which by law can only be obtained in a face to face workshop. We can enrol you (click here) in an Express CBD OHS Unit CPCCOHS1001A work safely in the construction industry course, held at the convenient CBD location at Town Hall Station. Classes are conducted Monday to Saturday. If you live beyond Sydney, we can assist you to find a local OHS White Card course provider.

STEP 2: Enrol in 91509NSW Course in Owner Builder Compliance

Workshops - Face to Face Learning, only $595: To maximise learning, held fortnightly over 3 Monday evenings, this interactive classroom format, with PowerPoint learning aids, is the best way to learn the most about the procedures, avoiding potential pitfalls and costly mistakes. Attending a Workshop may take longer and cost a bit more, but you will be learning from a Licenced Builder, with years of residential construction experience to share with you. In this way, you will understand and absorb considerably more than studying by yourself and you can ask questions or aspects you may not understand as they arise. Plus you will learn from the explanations given to other's questions. A few hours of travelling and classroom study is nothing compared with the many months of solo owner building ahead of you.
